Ups and Downs

Many people ask why I run, in actual fact the more I do it the more people ask me! I decided to take on MedalMad's remembrance challenge (22km) and part of the reason for wanting to do this was because I use running as my 'thinking time'.

I thought it would be a great way to remember our brave soldiers and to think about our current soldiers fighting for our country at the moment.

I wanted to complete the 22km run all in one go, however that didn't go to plan and I had to do it in two parts due to medical issues. I was a little disappointed with myself that I didn't manage to run 22km because I thought not only it would be a real challenge for me but also great marathon training! However sometimes things are out of your control and you just have to take a step back to move forward!

I feel like my running journey is a little bit like a rollercoaster on a very rocky road with lots of ups and downs. The more people I talk to about running also share some of these experiences, so if you ever don't make a distance, don't feel disheartened just go back out and try again! Plus thanks to MedalMad you have a flexible and generous time limit to achieve that awesome medal!
