    Another good week. Pain meds changeover has been OK but still having more pain than usual. Keeping up with my steps though. Now into September and its grey, dull and raining. Still warm though. Hard to believe how peoples thoughts are turning to Christmas. I decided to focus on doing a charity 3 months for those injured by drunk drivers. Funny how they almost always walk away without a scratch. Keep up the good work everyone.

    August was a good month though ended with fracturing my wrist playing football. 130 miles for the month and up to 830 miles for the year so ahead of schedule.

    So far this month has been a good month as started to add a bit of jogging in my workouts and not had any issues with either my ankle or back though my knee still doesn’t enjoy it but still progress. 50 miles done already this month.

    Finally we have rain so its much cooler. Its been too hot to do much including sleeping. Salads are ok for a day or two then they get very boring and un-inspiring. Still it's healthy or so they say. Nearly another month over. Tried with the flower sprinker for my great grandaughter it just did not dance around the way we expected it to, she had fun though with all her garden toys. Great to watch a 2 1/2 year old try and figure put how to use a bat and ball. She concentrates so hard on problem solving. She is my inspiration.

    Just submitted my evidence for another 5 k. Changed pain meds as my hip is very painful. Just about managing now. Waiting for an appointment for orthopaedic surgeon with a view of being listed for a hip replacement. Hopefully it will improve things.

    Doing OK still on track with my steps. Getting towards school holidays now. Just a few jobs to do in the garden, including making a bench. Bought a new hose to attach to the sprinkler for my great grand daughter. She loves water play in the garden.

    Another month and a new set of challenges to be done. Now my leg problem has been dealt with. A new right hip is needed. Time to prepare for that and get on with my life. All I can do now is my best. It certainly won't defeat me just made me more determined to build my strength so my recovery will be short. I have a feeling the Mud Run will need to be cancelled.

    Great week family get togethers for birthdays. I made cake to celebrate. Walking is improving and finding a pace that suits me and my age as well as the most important factor, my medical condition. Just keeping focused and pushing forward. Got another 5 km award this week. Well motivated.

    This week marked 6 years since I had my protective boot off after Achilles repair (which have now found out has a plastic sheath around it to protect it since gap was too great to stitch proper). I marked it by have 2 football sessions this week which I’ve coped with though if going Shopping it gives me a bad back!

    Happy 3rd Birthday. I took advantage and signed up for 2 more marathons. What a great way to be motivated. This week has been relentless rain and so basically housebound. I have not yet developed the still of walking stick, umbrella and shopping bag. Parts of my area are underwater so I could try swimming challenges.

    Really enjoyed my older peoples keep fit class yesterday. 1960's and 70's music is so much better than the thumping of today. Bonus that we can sing along too. Thankfully I am on track for my challenge and losing weight slowly and steadily. OK only 0.5 kg a week but its a loss. Really struggling to get out and about today, the rain which started late afternoon yesterday has just not stopped. Some areas of the country will be underwater by the end of the week. Just hope nobody gets hurt as a result. Be safe out there everyone.

    Actually played a game of five a side football this week for the first time in 6 years since I had my achilles repaired. Hoping that by easing into this I might be able to not only improve fitness but get my body to allow me to do some proper running, a bit achy afterwards and following morning but no other ill effects which is a bonus

    So its now June. Nearly halfway through the year. Still here and still going. When I was younger they never had marathons. Who knows if I might have done one. At least with this, my dream of not one, not even 2 but 3 in one month. Very impressive even if I say so myself. Its not just the challenge people enjoy but your tangible achievement when completed. Just really one thing really wished to do. A MUD RUN.

    Bank Holiday weekend means a change in the weather. Kids off school so it should rain. Time to be checking flight prices for my next holiday. Figure if its October I need to sign up for the Scream challenge with the T shirt. Walking. has returned to my normal 6000- 7000 a day. Legs just about recovered from the overuse suffered in Orlando. Just need to remind myself of my age before any long walks are contemplated. Plenty in the garden to keep me busy next week.

    Hard to believe we are halfway through May already. Where has the time gone. Back on track now with doing my 5000 during weekdays and aiming for 3500 at the weekends. Learning to listen to my body at its current age and not the body I think its at. Managed to raise £53 for Stroke Care. I am pleased with that, the first time I have used walking to fund raise. I might do more to raise more money. Just need to think of something worthwhile. Keep going everyone, we are almost half way through the year now. Good luck to all.

    Still struggling from this overuse thing with my legs. Impossible to rest and be lazy, just not me. Happy that 4 marathons have been completed( ok virtual ones) and my annual 5k for Dawn. Just added another 5 k for the Stroke Foundation. A certain sense of satisfaction is a great feeling. Where next will my adventures take me?

    Well my 10k hike turned into 14k whilst is my longest one and managed to get 3 miles done in my Walking Football this morning so up to 98 miles this month to put me ahead of schedule for 1000 miles this year.
