My goal is to complete 1000K in 2019, not from my daily steps but focused fitness walking and running. I'm a newbie to running so January was all about walking, I'm currently about to start walking/jogging my mileage on February 1st, but by the end of the year I want to be comfortably and happily running it :) And it all has to be done outside, despite the weather!

The reason for me doing this is I lost my Mum last summer, which happened unexpectedly, and as a result afterwards my fitness levels took a huge nose dive. Basically any type of fitness became non-existent. So some time has passed and it's now a new year and time to set some new goals and to focus on wellness and fitness again.

A much better week with a good 5K walk on Saturday and a total of 31.47 km completed for the week. I think that's one of my best totals so far so I'm really pleased with that. I also wrote out a plan for the next 16 weeks combining walking, jogging and running so fingers crossed it will keep any issues at bay and keep me moving.

There's been some really bad rain here this week so I haven't been able to get out as much as I would have liked. 10.97 km walked outside and 9.46 km on the treadmill for a total of 20.43 km which is still ok. I've also started increasing my time running on the treadmill which I'm really happy about. And a BIG thank you to MedalMad for the lovely discount code I received with my August medal, that was such a lovely surprise. Now to try to decide from my wishlist which challenges to go for :- )

Update and a cute cat pic : D
Total km for the week is 28.91 which is a better distance completed in quite a while. I've been outside during the day and on the treadmill in the evening which has definitely helped with this. Also tallied up my steps for the week which have come to 82,966 so far. Still chasing that 100,000 week!

Very happy with 22.18 km completed this week, a much better result than previous weeks this month. Some of this has been on the treadmill again because of the heat but looking forward to getting more distance in the coming days. Never thought I'd be so happy to hear the weather's cooling down!

Tallied up my activity from July 2nd to the 20th which came to 47.97 km. This includes some short times on the treadmill which I don't always include in my totals as I'm trying to do most of my fitness activity outside, but sometimes the treadmill helps. I have a busy coming week so I'll see what I can achieve with that but I'm hoping to get back to increasing my distance in August.

I didn't get the distance in I wanted this week due to not feeling great. So I could either be disappointed about it or move on. I choose moving on. Only 12.31 km completed but it's better than 0.

Slow week this week. Summer disappeared along with my mojo but I did manage 5k yesterday to make a total of 16.89km for the week. I think that's my worst total this year, but I'm still getting a good step count every day, just need to get back into a structured fitness walking and running plan. If the sun would come out and stay I'm sure it would help (wishful thinking lol, summer in Scotland!).

The sun finally came out this week but I didn't quite make it to my 100km target for the month. I've been super busy with work and trying to have a late spring clean of my house and studio (Marie Kondo would be fit to burst at the current state of everything lol) so my overall total came to 91.57km. I checked my overall daily steps though and they amounted to 229.08km so I couldn't be too disappointed. And there's always July! I'm also hoping to get back to running again soon so here's to the next 6 months.

Quick update this morning as for some reason the page wouldn't load for me yesterday (computer must have been having a night off!). Another 21.7km to add to my total. I'm hoping to hit 100km for the month so my week's plans are to get the remaining 25.18km done. Never thought though I'd be digging out the jacket again at this time of year instead of the shorts!

Only 19.97km done this week due to work but had one session on the treadmill (which I normally hate) but I used it to test being able to run again. Not feeling anything anymore so I'm excited to start getting back into it. Baby steps though but they're going in the right direction. Now if only the weather would improve....

Short walks done during the week due to my workload but managed a 5K on Saturday for a total of 17.64km. Also took a total of my fitness walking and running distance so far for the year. 1000K goal, nearly there then lol. Pleased I'm halfway through but I'm now going to see what total I can reach for the year.

Tallied up my fitness distance for May and was just shy of 100km at 96.49km. Couldn't believe it! Nevermind, a brand new month means new goals to be set so I started off June on a good note!

I've been having to take a rest week so only 3 short slow walks done, the furthest just being short of 3km. Adding in more stretching and strengthening so I'll hopefully be back to at least walking at my normal pace soon. I know I'll have to wait before starting to run again but I'm determined to get there. It's also been raining like a champion so at least I've been saved from getting soaked everyday!

Went running on Monday and I don't know what happened later in the day but my new motto is now 'if you can't run walk'. I have fibromyalgia so wondered if it was to do with my muscles but I think I might have jarred something instead so now I'm back to walking only, and at a much slower pace. It's hugely frustrating but as long as I keep moving and listening to my body I'll be ok with that. So only 25.84km total for the week but every bit counts.

Another 28.33km done this week to add to my total. 10.91km of that was running so I'm hoping from now on to continually build on that distance.

I'm back to running for the Forrest Gump Challenge but I've discovered I'm a really slow runner in the early morning so it may take a while lol. Rounded off the weekend with 2 longer walks as I only managed shorter ones during the week.

It's been a slow month but with this week's totals it still adds up to 94.23km for April. It's back to running on Wednesday and if I stop taking photos when out my pace should dramatically improve. My Fitbit strap also broke this week so keeping my fingers crossed it'll last without duct tape until a new one arrives. I'd be lost without it now!

Still adjusting to an early schedule and hoping to make it even a little bit earlier over the next week. Decided to stick with walking only again due to tiredness but have got running back in the diary for the start of May. I also only had time for short walks but as long as I'm outside everyday I'm ok with that at the moment. I did manage 4K this morning and what a beautiful start to the day. Fingers crossed this weather continues!

I decided I wanted to start getting my runs in during the early morning instead of at night so have been adjusting getting up earlier for this to happen. 6-6.30am starts with a busy workload haven't left me with much energy to run at all so I stuck with walking again this week. Another 21.6km done but hopefully when I adjust to the different time schedule I look forward to getting my running shoes back on. It's so quiet and peaceful at that time of the morning to be out.

It's been a walking week with a total of 24.4km done but will be back to running tomorrow. Only 639.92km left to go now until I reach my 1000K target! Nearly there lol......
