My goal in 2019 is to combine running, cycling, swimming and rowing to cover 1000 miles in 2019.

It is a bit of a challenge for me as i fell short of my 2018 goals of 500 miles running. It was a difficult year but that is no excuse. So I am going to aim to go further in 2019 but using different activities.

As 2018 has been pretty stressful it would seem that I have put on a few pounds so this year I will be losing 2.5 stone.

Starting weight is 17.5 stone.

I hope to keep everyone update dated on here as I think putting it all on FB can be annoying for others.

    So here is my Friday update.

    This week I have managed to get to the gym twice, which is one short of my target but I am okay with that. Both workouts consisted of speed training on the treadmill with weights afterwards. Though having been slightly under the weather this week both sessions went well.

    Then today I headed out for a 5km run, my intention was to go out hard and I managed to complete the 5km in 28.51 minutes. It has been a while since I have seen the 28 minutes so I am happy with that. So total milage to this week is 10.5 miles.

    So I am planning a slow, run/walk for 10 miles on Sunday. the eldest son doesn't have rugby as it is half term so feel I can take a bit longer than normal. That will keep me on track with 20 miles this week.

    So after a fair few weeks now into 2019 I am feeling fitter and stronger. Just need to keep the motivation up.

    Hope everyone else is on track and keeping up with your goals.

    This week has not been so bad. I have managed to do 15km on the road (plus 10km tomorrow) and have hit the gym three times. So in total including using the gym equipment I have logged 19 miles. So just short of my 20 mile a week target but I am hoping to start increasing this as I get fitter.

    I have made an effort to go to the gym in the last few weeks and have made it three times a week so far. I am feeling the fitness starting to return.

    I have yet to weigh myself again since I started this challenge but I am hoping to do so next week, four weeks after starting my challenge and I hope that I will have lost something.

    So I am off to an okay start, the gym attached to the MedalMad office has new running machines, those interactive ones, which has helped. So I have started with a 3 mile run yesterday and then 5 miles today, plus some weights. Having had the shock that my weight has gone up a tad of Christmas has given me some more motivation. So this weeks target is 25 miles plus three weights sessions.
