13.5k today and the biggest longest steepest hill ever! The life lesson here is definitely “ the biggest hills are the hardest to climb but have the best views!”....

So after some great advice, (thanks MedalMadUK), I am back on the running train. Not only am I running again, but my last run I really pushed myself. I only went and got my very first sub 30 5K! I have been chasing this for so long and it finally happened. I am super proud of myself. It was a hard run, I almost burnt out after the 3rd km as i was running much quicker than I usually would have. However menatally I dragged myself through the last 2 km and got that sub 30.

I am enjoying running again. I will complete this challenege. I will hit 500km for the year. Currently on 301km so I have smashed my origonal 300km target. Im so glad i upped it to 500km. This will be a challenge because of the time i took for a rest but I will complete it.

    W/e 15/09
Ill all week, walking made me wheezy, short of breath and cough so I had some enforced rest days. I couldn't run so on parkrunday I managed to walk 6.63 miles - walking to parkrun, setting up parkrun, showing marshals to their positions, tailwalking at parkrun then walking home from parkrun, once I'd processed the results.
Felt much better after that day so tried a short run, 3.91 miles. Didn't feel my best and struggled with breathing but it was quite humid too so not sure if I'm better or not! Hate being ill!!
    Total distance 10.54

I wasn't able to update yesterday with my week's results but have managed to add another 30.16 km this week. Still sticking with my plan and a mixture of walks outside and running on the treadmill. Keeping my fingers crossed for a weather improvement when I start moving my runs outside again as at the moment it's gotten a little chilly, a little too soon for my liking!

  • Sunday 15th September - end of week 37

    Miles completed this week

    Running - 6.22 miles
Warm up & Cool down walking - 0
    Commute walking - 19.87miles
    Recreational walking - 0

Absolutley manic work at week - our office has 25 staff, and at this time of year we can have up to 7 off (4 on rest weeks, 3 on leave) - but this week we also had 2 on special leave and 2 off sick..... and then a third went off sick on Fri & Sat! Made for some looooong days I cycled to work on Monday, but left the bike there as I didn't have my lights and it was starting to turn to dusk by the time I left. So I walked home Monday, into work Tuesday, and cycled home Tuesday. I then walked the commute the other 4 days, and today I ran a 10k race I entered at the start of the year, and earned myself this medal

    Year to date

    Running - 158.1
Warm up & Cool down walking - 14.53
    Commute walking - 177.3
    Recreational walking - 216.4

Total miles for year to date - 566.33
Target for year to date (based on 1000 miles in year) = 706.85 miles in 258 days.

Daily/weekly average needed for rest of year to complete the challenge (107 days) = 4.053 / 28.37

  • 35 miles covered this week 😊. Today was Truro Half Marathon and I had a really good run & got an 11min 10 sec PB from last year. It’s a very hilly course & I coped well which is good news as I’m going to running the Cornish Marathon on 2 November. Next race is Cubert 5 at the end of the month & for the next few weeks im building miles for the marathon. 😁

I’m so incredibly busy at the moment that my training is not getting the full attention that it needs or deserves. The half marathon is in four weeks and I’m already incredibly nervous. On the upside I managed to get to Parkrun yesterday and got a new pb!
