Girl Power!
I'm a big fan of the Spice Girls. I have fond memories of dancing around in the living film with my sister and a couple of our friends. I think we may even have done a performance in assembly once! Anyway, the less said about that the better lol.
I've decided running is a bit like the Spice Girls:
Scary - that moment when everyone starts crossing the start line and you realise that you are actually going to try and do this. There's a moment when you don't feel ready despite all of your training and healthy eating and early nights.
Baby - looking around at the other runners you still feel so new and inexperienced at this. Everyone else is dressed slightly better for the weather (well it looked warm when you left the house!) than you, there's people with this special back packs on, those over there have their number on central and with some fancy clips instead of these pins that I just can't get straight! Yes, I fee like I'm the baby of the running community and I'm still learning so much!!!
Ginger - I will wear my bright tikiboo style leggings and I don't care how much I stand out. The brighter the better and I will keep looking for some Geri style Union Jack ones!!!
Sporty - oh come one. Surely I don't need to explain this one!!
Posh - the bling you get at the end to hang around your neck is better than any jewels that money can buy. I mean that. Jewels are nice but they don't come with the same sense of personal pride and race memories as the medal you are presented with at the finish line.
I came up with all that whilst I ran the 5k to earn my awesome medal!!!! What do you think? Am I crazy spice??
