Run, Forrest, Run
Forrest Gump is known as many things, one of them for being an ultra marathoner. I'd signed up for the Run, Forest, Run 10km medal but due to my lost mojo recently it wasn't my greatest triumph!
I've been doing a bit of background reading about the Forrest Gump film and found this fascinating article about whether his run, that took 3 years, 2 months, 14 days and 16 hours would be possible in real life:

Ive also discovered that Forrest Gump's running is inspired by a true story of another ultra marathoner called Louis-Michael Figueroa. In 1982, he was a 16 year old boy when he set of from New Brunswick, New Jersey for San Francisco. He completed his journey in 60 days and is believed to have become the fastest and youngest person to run across America, at that time. "I made a promise to the 10- year old brother of a friend, who had cancer, and was despondent and angry over a life that was ending too soon. To give Bobby hope, I promised I would run across America if he fought the cancer." Louis-Michael actually gave an interview, sitting on a bench, after his run ended and said the now infamous line from Forrest Gump, "When I got tired, I slept. When I got hungry, I ate..."
I wish I'd read these things before setting out myself as I know I would've definitely been inspired to complete the 10km in one run rather than in two 5km runs!
I'm certainly excited for where my running journey will take me in April. I've decided that I want to run 75 miles before May, which will be my highest ever monthly total.
