Tokyo Marathon Virtual Challenge

When I saw that the Tokyo marathon was included this year as part of the monopoly board theme for the marathon series I had to sign up to complete the set.

I decided to use the ½ Marathon I was doing in Germany in June and the Valencia ½ Marathon in October for the miles for this challenge.

The ½ in Germany is a great event that takes place running round a lovely forest and woodland nice and flat it is also the home to where I completed my first marathon back in 2014 I have been back every year either to run the Marathon again of the ½

Wearing my GB vest and it also took part on a Saturday afternoon when Germany were playing in the World Cup so had to wear a silly hat and pretend to support Germany but the beer was ok. I ran this in a new course PB 2.04.19 for me which I was pleased with and the date is in the diary for next year just a flip of a coin to see if I am going to do the ½ or full marathon next year.

On to Valencia which is also another flat course and this year I can say that I ran the same race that the world record for the ½ marathon was broken on not the I was ever close to the elite at the front. Again I ran this last year and was a great race to return to very good goody bag at the expo and free beer at the finish line. As in Germany I also ran a course PB 2.00.34 for this event and looking at the diary to return next year and hope to Run a PB.
